As you may know, June marks Pride Month in Canada. On behalf of the General Child and Family Services Authority (GA), I would like to extend our support to the 2SLGBTQQIA+ community, including our employees, volunteers and the children, youth and families we serve.
There are many ways to show your support. If you are in the Winnipeg area, consider attending the 2025 Pride Winnipeg Festival which is hosting events all weekend, culminating in the Pride Winnipeg parade and rally on Sunday, June 1.
For those outside of Winnipeg, many other communities across the province are hosting events, including Brandon (Brandon Pride), Portage la Prairie, Beausejour, Carman and others.

The GA is committed to supporting all staff, foster parents, children and families, by being an ally for the 2SLGBTQQIA+ community in Manitoba.
This Pride Month, and all year, I encourage everyone to celebrate all identities and stand in solidarity with one other.
Let’s all take action to create a world where our colleagues, children, youth and families can be their true selves.
