On behalf of the General Child and Family Services Authority (GA), I would like to acknowledge Pride Month and the 2024 Pride Winnipeg Festival.
The GA encourages you to celebrate an inclusive workplace, which celebrates and supports all 2SLGBTQIA+ employees and allies.
There are many ways to show your support of your fellow colleagues at various events. One is by taking part in the Winnipeg Pride Parade on June 2. The theme for this year’s parade is “Transcend Together,” which “embodies the collective strength and unity within the queer community” and “emphasizes the empowerment and resilience of trans individuals.”
In addition, I encourage you to take part in numerous other Pride parades and events taking place throughout the month of June in various locations across the province, if you do not live in Winnipeg. Please email PSCEDI@gov.mb.ca or visit the Manitoba Pride Alliance for more information.
The GA is fully committed to supporting all staff, foster parents, children and families, by being an ally for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in Manitoba.
By taking action, we can all do our part to ensure our colleagues, as well as the children and families we work with, can live authentically and without fear of discrimination.
