Manitoba’s Active Offer, developed by the provincial government, is in place at the General Authority so any person calling the office can get an initial response in French, with bilingual staff available to handle inquiries in Canada’s two official languages.
Regulation 199/255 pursuant to The Child and Family Services Authorities Actrequires all Child and Family Services Authorities and agencies under that Authority’s jurisdiction to submit an annual plan for French Language Services. The General Child and Family Services Authority has completed a French Language Services Plan in accordance with the expectations set out in the Regulation. The General Authority FLS Plan sets out specific goals in each of the following areas: active offer, training, governance and coordination, reporting progress, establishing community partnerships. The General Authority FLS Plan has been approved by the Board of Directors and the Conseil Communauté en Santé du Manitoba. Our goal is for the French language to become a more integral part of our every day office operations and for staff and public to feel more at ease using the French language to communicate in the workplace.
